Hello all,

I've decided to start a blog about doing little girls hair since it is something that I love and something that I do EVERY morning.
To begin, let me tell you a little about my family!
My husband and I have two kids. A seven-year-old son and a five year old daughter.

I had been doing hair professionally for quite awhile. However, when we moved to a different state temporarily, I didn't want to get a new state license for just a short amount of time. I decided to take a break from professional hair while we were here. My daughter, though, is the age where her hair is just the right thickness and length to do all kinds of fun stuff, so I keep my skills in practice. I always get the famous question "How did you do that?" from a lot of people, so I thought I'd share.

I started this blog to help those moms who have a hard time doing their little girls hair and need some easy tips and ideas to make their daughters look done up for school or church. I probably won't have many fancy things here, like some other great blogs out there have; this will show the more simple and easy ways that I find to get hair done. I will also have some hair tips every once in awhile that I personally use. If any of you have any tips or different ways that you do things, please comment; it REALLY helps!

Baby Magic

Okay, this trick might seem a little silly to some, but I swear by it, it has always worked for me.
Ever since my Little One was a baby I have used this Baby Magic lotion in her hair.

At first I used it to make her smell good and to keep the little curl on top of her head stay up, and I just haven't stopped using it.
If your little girl has fine hair use very little, and for every girls hair, don't use it close to the scalp when her hair is down that day or it will look greasy.
Most people use hairspray to keep the fly a ways down, but I rarely use hairspray at all, I think hairspray makes the hair sticky and hard to comb through the next day, it can dry the hair out, it will also make her head hurt to comb through it.
When I use the lotion, I don't just glob a whole bunch in it, I rub it in my hands and put it in AFTER styling it, just where the fly a way's are, I also use it when their are curls, I rub it in my hand then run my fingers through her hair.  It makes the curls stay together a bit better and not look fuzzy.
Plus, it make her smell clean and good!
I know that Baby Magic brand is hard to find, I'm sure the other brands like Johnson's baby lotion would probably work just as good, I just like the way Baby Magic smells so try what you like.
I DO know that regular lotion is a little to greasy so that's why baby lotion works so good, it's really gentle and soft.
Try it, see if it works for you!
Let me know if it does.

  1. We are enjoying your blog! Still would love to have a personal lesson though. I feel like I am all fingers when I try to do anything very complex! :)

Okay, so where can we find this baby magic locally?

And just an idea for a post - how do you curl hair? I try and try to keep curls in Grace's hair and they just fall out. Will the baby magic make the "magic" happen and keep the curls in? :)
