Star

I saw this star on a different website and I thought I'd give it a try. She wore it to church on Sunday and we got a lot of "how do you do's" on it so I thought I would post it.  I did it a little different on Sunday but it was similar.
It's pretty easy so I'll show you how I did it.

 I parted it in 3 triangles on the top of her head.

The next section under that I parted it down the middle adding the ponytails from the top, parting the middle triangle ponytail in half.

I left the bottom section down because I thought it would be easier to do the star without it, but I'm sure if you added it all together it would work too.


 In order to do this hairstyle you should probably use a craft needle, I found it in the knitting isle and they're just big and plastic, mine came in a pack of two.  I couldn't imagine doing this style without it, but if you're really careful you might be able to do it without.

The ribbon I used was about 1/4" or 1/2" thick and I measured it about 3 feet.  The needle is big enough to thread it though easily.

I did the star with making it just like you draw them on a piece of paper.  I started on the bottom left corner, and then worked it up to the middle.

Then threaded it down on the bottom right.  It's really tricky to get it flat without it twisting so do it slowly.

After that I took it up to the top left and then over to the right.

After the top right corner is looped, bring the ribbon back to the left corner where it started.

I decided to bring the rest up to make pigtails, and added some cute ribbons (I had a lot of extra ribbon so I just wrapped it around to make a bow and cut off another piece of ribbon to tie a bow on the other side to make it even). On the 4th I had red white and blue ribbons, but today she wasn't dressed 4th of Julyish so we just did white and pink.
